Our client is a privately owned company based in Surrey, who are manufacturers of water control and delivery systems, selling into a wide variety of industries from plumbing and heating, to catering and vending/coffee companies, and they are currently recruiting for a Sales Manager to actively approach new businesses across the UK and Europe to initiate long-standing relationships with the goal of generating repeat business for the full range of their products.

Although the role will require a lot of face to face with potential clients, the successful candidate will ideally be based in the South East of England, preferably within commuting distance of their offices in the Woking area.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

The Sales Manager is an important role within the sales team in leading projects, managing the existing team and managing negotiations for new business opportunities with OEM customers in UK and Europe. By engaging with their product designers and development engineers, in addition to the commercial department, the focus will be to identify and develop opportunities in which their products are specified for repeat business. The skill set required to be successful encompasses project management, sales ability, and good management techniques. Technical awareness will be an advantage in dealing with product design and technical design situations, though support will be given by their customer facing technical department. The scope for sales is wide and the business development activity will cover a diverse range of market sectors.

The role will require business gravitas and candidates must have the ability to communicate and move through all areas of an organisation whether at Director level , or quality, technical and procurement departments. A natural ability to build strong relationships and the ability to facilitate and coordinate the different elements to work closely together to a project deadline is imperative.

Experience in B2B sales

Proven relevant business development experience
