Job Overview:

We are looking for individuals with a passion for technology and solid academic foundations in analytical disciplines. Cisco is a strong advocate of using its own networking, data centre and collaboration products and solutions internally; Cisco IT deploys these technologies - the result being that Cisco IT accrues a great deal of experience in how to design, deploy and operate these solutions within a large global enterprise. This kind of 'reference deployment' information is crucial for Cisco's customers, lending credibility to Cisco solutions and the company as a trusted advisor. As an IT Network Engineer Intern you will have the opportunity to get involved in a number of different projects.

Day to day that means:

  • Use creative problem-solving skills to provide Cisco with advanced, essential business capabilities.
  • Work with large, complex data sets and develop solutions and algorithms to monitor service performance and support business decisions.
  • Solve non-routine, cross-service analysis problems by applying advanced analytical methods as needed.
  • Participate in research in statistical methodology and machine learning applications.
  • Interact cross-functionally with a wide variety of teams.
  • Use creative problem-solving skills to provide Cisco with advanced, essential business capabilities.
  • Developing technical prototype environments and concepts
  • Work in a cross-functionally across a variety of teams and time zones to identify business and technical requirements.


About you:

  • Enrolled in the course of studies towards Bachelor's or Master's degree (Computer Science, IT, Math, Physics, Engineering or similar disciplines preferred) - please note you must be a penultimate year student who is looking for a one year placement
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • You have strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in data, Information Lifecycle Management and Big Data; SQL and Excel (essential), Python
  • You are familiar with Database modeling (RDMBS knowledge & Database Normalisation) and statistical analysis
  • Passionate about technology and opened to learning new things and develop.
