We currently have a vacancy at our Milton Keynes Data Centre for a Network Engineer responsible for the Infrastructure build and support of secure environments hosted within our Milton Keynes, Manchester and UK Govt. Datacentres.

If successful in this role your responsibilities will include:

• Install, configure and ensure connectivity of all relevant Servers, Network and Storage devices.
• Support software including operating systems and Infrastructure application tools.
• Assist in the preparation of Internal and Customer operational procedures/processes to accompany these IT systems.
• Ownership of the secure backup environment, managing tape rotations and restores for the client.
• Provide hands on support for 3rd line Infrastructure at remote sites.
• Own and report daily checklists within the secure site on systems and hardware.
• Provide systems administration services for the various IT systems in use in the dedicated environments.
• Maintain systems documentation and user guides for approval for secure environments.
• Ensure Vulnerability Patching and configuration is undertaken as per agreed Policy and process.
• Liaise with key third party suppliers.
• Participate in the 24x7x365 on call rota for the Milton Keynes Datacentre.

To be considered for this role you will possess the following attributes:

• The ability to attain UK Government Security Clearance within the 3 month probation period.
• A strong technical knowledge of the following is essential:
- VMWare VSphere 5.5 – VCP certification.
- Windows Server 2008/12/16.
- Virtualisation Backup Technologies – Zerto an advantage.
- Active Directory / DNS. 
- Terminal Services.
- HP Servers / Blades.

• The following skills/ knowledge are also desirable although not essential: 

- Storage technologies – NetAPP or similar.
- Cisco Networking an advantage.
- Firewalls – Checkpoint, Cisco ASA.
- F5 Load balancing.
