We have a new exciting opportunity at Saga Group for a Brand and New Business Insight Manager to join our team based in Enbrook, Folkestone. You will join our team on a full time, permanent basis and will receive a competitive salary of £46,641 per annum.

About the Brand and New Business Insight Manager role:
The purpose of this role is two fold, firstly to help build and track the recently relaunched Saga brand; secondly to bring the customer alive, front and centre within the development of Saga’s new businesses – this will include our financial services, retirement villages, care.
This role will focus on us as a brand, building on the recent brand relaunch, managing the TX brand tracking programme, and driving action across the whole Saga business. New Business within our brand will also be a main focus of the role, providing a strategic review of the financial services market, Saga’s position within it, trends and changes influencing it.
The new business side of the role will also involve identifying and enabling relevant research into the needs, behaviours and preferences of customers within this sector. This will include working closely with products, operations and our marketing teams in order to influence the development of business reflecting what our customers need.
Key responsibilities as our Brand and New Business Insight Manager:
- Managing the TX brand tracking research programme, generate clear and insightful implications from the programme and drive action both across and within the appropriate business units
- Conduct workshops and other action orientated programmes to establish the best ways in respond to the opportunities identified from the research
- As appropriate, guide the development of the Saga master brand by leveraging broader understanding of customer needs attitudes and behaviour (as identified across the Insight team) and support the development of powerful product brands
- Work with the new business teams, and Insight colleagues to identify the key gaps in customer and market knowledge relevant to the development of new business
- Prioritise and agree an annual plan of work that will address both the short and long term gaps identified above, leveraging bespoke research, published data and analysis of Saga customer data
- Work with the Saga panel team to identify if/how the agreed research needs might be met through the Saga panel
- Lead the delivery of all aspects (internal and external) of this research and ensure effective identification of applied insight from the findings building these into recommendations for the business
- Work with the new business teams to deliver an annual update, reviewing of the state of the market and the relative strengths and weaknesses of Saga’s position within it vis a vis established and new competitors
- Provide subject matter expertise, as required, into the Membership content and webinar programmes
- Support the overall development of the reputation of the team across the business as customer champions
Experience and skills required of our Brand and New Business Insight Manager:
- Graduate level
- Minimum 5 years business experience
- An experienced market researcher with a bent towards brand planning and strategy development
- Practical experience in driving change through others, in business planning and practice
- A strategic thinker who is able to connect high level trends to individual actions (hence able to go from big picture to specific detail) and implications for the Saga business
- A brand expert who understands customer relationships with brands, how they are evolved and promoted, most particularly how they are measured and tracked via the TX model
- An experienced market researcher, knowledgeable about and interested in new techniques and when / how to use them effectively
- The ability to integrate hard and soft data to generate customer understanding
- Good understanding of the overall and specific goals of the Saga group, and the specific goals and strategies of the new business division
- Commercial acumen, able to balance practical demands of the balance sheet with those of the customer
