This is a Unique Role on a Part-Time , occasional Basis for an Electrical / Electronic Designer with expert knowledge of designing the electronic layouts that sit within lighting installations.
It would probably best suit a retired professional electronic design engineer looking for occasional Electric / Electronic Consultancy work. This role offers considerable flexibility to work the hours and days you choose, and a long term proposition to enjoy a steady stream of consultancy work at a good rate of pay. It will typically involve one or two days work per week on average.
Our Client is a major specialist high-specification lighting Design Practice. They are extremely successful at what they do and have designed numerous large scale iconic lighting installations now in place within some of the premier hotels, bars and restaurants throughout the UK and Europe. They have an excellent reputation and are long established. Their installations have featured regularly in the press and they have won numerous awards.
Our client regularly designs bespoke, high value lighting installations to a Client's brief. Frequently, the installations they design are unusual, exciting and a one-off. Our client are looking for a Electronic Designer with substantial experience in electronic design of lighting systems who can liaise with their artistic team, ensuring that their design incorporates the practical electric systems that will enable the installation to work effectively, and to be a success.
You should be up-to-date with modern wiring regulations and have a flair for thinking outside the box, in order to come up with solutions that can be incorporated into the design of our client's large artistic lighting installations. As well as being a very competent designer, you should be happy to roll up your sleeves and experiment with solutions within the design model studio. Our client creates various mock-ups of their installations, and are looking for someone who can assemble and test the prototypes they design, making adjustments as necessary.
This is truly a fascinating and exciting position, dealing with unique artistic lighting installations. If you are a highly experienced Electronic Designer, appropriately qualified, a good communicator and a practical person who has an in-depth knowledge of electronic design of lighting systems, and are interested in a position on a part time basis this could be for you
