Sales Assistant (Civil's and Drainage specialist)
Civils & Drainage Product Specialist
Our "Sales Hub" branch is responsible for the company's bulk deliveries, specialist products, large contracts, and accounts for 20% of the company's sales.
Our client is looking for an experienced person to join their 'sales hub'. The Sales Hub are a group of specialists managing different product sectors which our client sell the bulk of their materials into. You will be dealing with enquiries and orders for Civils, Drainage & Landscaping Products.
Location: Southampton
Hours: 40 hours, 8am-5pm Monday to Friday
Duties & Responsibilities:
* Oversee Sales from start to finish, with the process including but not being limited to:
* Answering incoming phone calls & receiving incoming email enquiries
* Liaise with suppliers to obtain best possible price & margin
* Production of quotations for customers logging them via in house sales system
* Placing & Invoicing of Purchase Orders within the required deadlines
* Support our external sales team with their customers and where necessary taking on the role of their internal contact
Requirements:
* Sales experience is essential, preferably with a strong customer background
* As a company passionate about customer relations, a candidate with experience in Customer Services will be advantageous
* Industry knowledge is desirable however the right attitude and a willingness to learn will be expected of any candidate regardless of experience
* Our suppliers are extremely important to our business and we work closely with them. If successful there will be an extensive range of product training available
* Good product knowledge regarding Civils and Drainage products is preferable however training will be provided for a suitable candidate with a willingness to learn
* Proactive attitude towards sales link selling is a key skill
* Competency in Microsoft Office & Excel would be advantageous due to much of the work being computer based
Effective communication both face to face and over the telephone, good organisational skills and an ability to understand profits and margins will prove beneficial
