Job Title: Air Export Gateway Operative

Location: Heathrow, London

Salary: £26,000 - £27,000 dependent on experience

The company is one of the world's leading providers of supply chain solutions, combining intercontinental Air and Ocean Freight with comprehensive Value-Added Logistics Services and Supply Chain Services. They operate a global network with some 500 branches in more than 80 countries, and employ approximately 16,000 people worldwide.

They're now looking to bring on an Air Export Gateway Operative within the Area Air Gateway working for the Area Air Freight Team.

Key Requirements:

  • Follow instructions from Air Gateway Manager.
  • Plan and book consolidations both permanent bookings and adhoc bookings.
  • Plan and book onto their Road Feeder Service (RFS) operation linking the Gateway with other BU's and Hubs.
  • Using the company's Capacity Management system, review bookings and allotments with airlines to ensure sufficient space is protected for the demand.
  • Support the Air Gateway Manager to control and plan operations supporting their own flight operation in Stansted.
  • Job Cost accurately all shipments.
  • Negotiated with airlines on spot rate requirements.
  • Assist planning of airline pallet builds for the warehouse operation.
  • Complete all sub-contractor irregularities within the company's IHT system to allow correct management of service failures.
  • Perform internal invoicing.
  • Various Administrative Tasks.
  • Deliver individual and departmental KPI's.

  • Good Air Freight experience.
  • Procurement experience with airlines.
  • Solid understanding of Air Gateway Concept.
  • Good administration competence.
  • Good planning and organisational skills.
  • Good relationship- and negotiation skills.
  • Result oriented.
  • Good communication skills (open and confidential communication style).
  • Analytical and strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to integrate and coordinate efforts/resources to act as a team player.
  • Good level of integrity, flexibility and creativity.
  • Forwarding background.
  • Relevant working experience.
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written).
  • Strong computer skills on Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to adapt to in-house operating systems.
