We have a new exciting opportunity at PDS Dental Laboratory (PDS) for a Purchasing Assistant to come and join our fantastic team based in Bradford on a full time, permanent basis and you will receive a competitive salary.

As our Purchasing Assistant your role will be to maintain inventory records for shipments and invoices, identifying which products need to be replenished; using manual and supply chain or inventory management software.  Ensuring the Purchasing function for PDS is monitored accurately, including all supplies, materials, and products in order to ensure that employees have access to the materials they need.

Key Responsibilities of our Purchasing Assistant:

- Informing Purchasing of any shortages / discrepancies, in timely manner, and to the relevant manger ensuring supplies are kept to their optimum.  

- Working closely with Team Leaders and Technicians, to ensure the replenishment of material stock, improving efficiency and adequate supplies

- Cover for Purchasing during holidays (including raising purchase orders/ approving supplier invoices and other duties as required).

- To undertake regular stock checks located either in the Laboratory or Store room to optimising stock levels and provide the value of onsite assets, comparing to previous counts for trend analysis

- To maintain good general housekeeping and to support others to do the same for improved management of stock

- Review deliveries against orders to ensure issues are brought to light quickly and managed and escalated affectively

- Regularly track the status of orders and highlight issues to the relevant manager

- Deal with non-supplied, under orders, over orders and damaged goods in line with company processes

- Generally, help out with smaller purchases, reviews and inventory matters in a consistent and detailed manner

- Support the Purchasing & Innovatory Manger to compile and maintain records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in establishment:

- Compile information on receipt or disbursement of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies, and computes inventory balance, price, and cost.

- Prepare reports, such as inventory balance, price lists, and shortages.

What we’re looking for in our Purchasing Assistant

- Methodical and dexterous 

- Excellent Microsoft knowledge with previous knowledge of supply chain or inventory management software 

- Able to work with high volume, in a fast paced environment with short deadlines

- Keen attention to detail with excellent organisation skills

- Can do attitude with a desire to improve systems and processes

- Team player with excellent communication skills
