Do you have experience in dealing with Public Sector Pension Schemes? Good with numbers? We have an excellent opportunity for a Public Sector Pensions Caseworker to join a company in Preston City Centre to join on a Fixed Term Contract until the end of March 2018. The role is based within a 5 minute walk of Preston Train Station and there is ample parking available within a 2 minute walk at the Avenham Car Park.
Your role as a Public Sector Pensions Caseworker will be to work through your own caseload of Defined Benefit Schemes as allocated by your line manager. These will vary from Retirement Estimates and Deferred Payments so a good understand and knowledge of Pension Schemes will stand you in good stead.
You will use the well known Public Sector system called Altair to work your way through your cases directed from the Inbound Contact Centre and your Case Manager. Good numeracy skills as well as high levels of accuracy are a must.
The Job
- To ensure the effective administration of a comprehensive range of casework in respect of the pensions schemes under administration. In addition, to process Lancashire County Councils employer related benefits including:
- Processing casework in line with the services and standards set out within Service Level - Agreements and specifically to achieve the targets set out within those arrangements.
- Checking calculations and systems to ensure the correct level of pension benefits are recorded and paid.
- Personal responsibility for the efficient management of individual task lists
- Being aware and having an understanding of the regulations relating to the pensions schemes under administration as well as overriding pensions legislation.
- Liaising with customers and external organisations to ensure the effective administration of pension benefits.
- Supporting and representing the Pension Service as appropriate in respect of events including presentations, roadshows and surgeries.
Minimum Essential Requirements
- 5 GCSEs or equivalent including Maths and English.
- Proven ability to undertake detailed mathematical calculations accurately.
- Practical experience in a Public Pensions Administration role.
The salary on offer for this contract is £23,398-27,668 pro rata to the contract length. We`re looking for somebody to start on or around the 9th of October give or take a week. Please only apply if you have Public Sector Pensions experience or your application will be declined.
