Role Purpose (Summary)
To underwrite and develop the SME motor account, underwriting business in accordance with QBE SME business plan; whilst providing support on a technical and administrative level.
General Description
- Underwrite new and existing Motor products
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers
- Support the development of cross class business opportunities
- Participate in the review and analysis of the portfolio to identify progress towards business plan
- Positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximise brand leverage
- Comply with all legal and regulatory requirements to ensure obligations are met
- Adhere to underwriting standards, instructions and good practice to minimise risk and maximise efficiency
- Keep abreast of market dynamics and demonstrate market cycle awareness to be able to operate effectively
Essential Requirements
- Technical Motor experience
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
- Desire to gain knowledge and skills in underwriting environment
- Strong negotiation skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Organised approach with ability to work to deadlines
- Exceptional service skills and proven track record of maintaining relationships
- Market awareness and broker development acumen
- An understanding of the value of transacting business efficiently
- Experience of working on E-trade platforms advantageous
