Residential Youth Worker

Lavoro Care have recently secured new contracts with some of the UK’s largest children’s residential care providers so have exciting opportunities for  experienced residential youth workers to join our successful team.

Residential youth workers will work as part of a team providing a comprehensive, residential service to children and young people who have emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD) and associated challenging behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for candidates who are interested in working for a quality care provider who provide ongoing professional development to enable them to build a long-term rewarding career.

Duties will include:

·Working on a flexible rota pattern including sleep-ins

·Building positive relationships and acting as an appropriate role model to young people.

·Providing support with education, daily budgets and household duties

·Encouraging independence

·Maintaining accurate, up-to-date records

Ideal candidates will meet the following essential criteria:

·Have previous experience of working with children and young people in residential settings.

·Be passionate about the care and welfare of children and young people

·Have excellent oral and written communication skills

·Be flexible and reliable

·NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People (Desirable)

·Car driver / owner and willing to travel within reason (up to an hour for block bookings)

We offer full-time / part-time, flexible agency hours, permanent positions, a specialist training package  and we can have you out to work within two weeks. Please note that the majority of our casual workers are offered permanent positions with our care providers within the first three months of employment.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo full safer employment checks including an enhanced DBS check. The £56.50 cost will be met by the applicant, however, we also accept portable enhanced DBS certificates.
