INDEPENDENT CHAIR OF BUCKFAST ABBEY SAFEGUARDING COMMISSION
The Abbey is seeking a suitable person to take over the voluntary role of Independent Chair for its Safeguarding Commission.
The Commission, which normally meets quarterly, is accountable to the Trustees and has regulatory, advisory and supportive functions. It operates at a strategic level in liaison with the Abbot, trustees and the Safeguarding Co-ordinator in all matters concerning the Safeguarding of Children and Adults.
The role requires a person with chairing skills and extensive recent Safeguarding experience, ideally having a background in the Police, Social Care, Probation or Family Law. Membership of the Catholic Church is not a prerequisite.
The role is unsalaried but does attract a small honorarium and expenses.
