Our client is a growing IT Company (17 people) with a Head Office in Stafford, Staffordshire.
Their team looks after many companies around the Midlands and North-West. Their job is to be their IT department. This brings numerous challenges every day.
Great customer service and note-taking skills are required, as are problem-solving skills. Expect to see technical problems you've never encountered before, and be expected to figure out the solution yourselves. Sure there's a great team around you to ask – but they encourage staff members to have a problem-solving mindset.
Expect more than just IT – they are a growing company and expect their engineers to support the company in various ways – including in meetings with customers and some assistance with business development.
When it comes to skills, they work mainly with Windows Servers and Windows Operating systems. They do use virtualisation (favouring HyperV) and they have numerous cloud options available to them too (yes. Office 365 too!). Experience in a 1st-line IT support role would be useful, and own-transport is essential!
They work with a methodology of continuous optimisation. They don't just fix problems, they fix them and then try to make sure they never happen again across their whole customer-base. They expect this mentality and thoroughness.
They are looking for an engineer in the Birmingham area who can work from home (or a remote office that they may take on), from client-sites and from their Stafford office.
