An opportunity has arisen for a Bank Healthcare Assistant to join a well-established private hospital that specialises in providing the highest quality of service to people with longstanding mental health problems. Based in Hertfordshire, the successful Bank Healthcare Assistant will join the care team to earn a salary of £17,000 per annum (pro rata). They are currently looking for bank staff to work on a flexible arrangement with them.

The hospital service has 30 in-patient beds designated restricted access or locked rehabilitation. It provides care and treatment for the full spectrum of mental health illness with all patients being funded by the NHS. As a Healthcare Assistant, your main duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Delivering a caring and effective, client focussed service, in keeping with the aims, objectives and standards of the hospital
  • Delivering sensitive and appropriate clinical care to meet individual’s needs, respecting personal dignity and beliefs
  • Working closely with the nursing team
  • Ensuring that with other colleagues, the communal areas are always staffed
  • Ensuring that clients are always supervised when in the garden, unless otherwise stipulated in their care plan
  • Interacting in a positive and natural manner with all clients
  • Identifying signs that may indicate that clients are at risk either to others or to themselves and reporting these concerns to the relevant staff members
  • Reporting any concerning behaviours or conversation topics with clients immediately
