We are looking for a self-motivated, analytically-thinking individual with strong communication skills and a hands-on approach to build the UK procurement department. Reporting to the UK Finance Director, and working closely with the Group Procurement team based in Germany, this position offers great potential for development through its visibility by the SARIA Group.

Previous procurement experience would be advantageous, as well as an understanding of the procurement principles. This position would ideally suit a graduate with circa 2-5 years working experience.

The Position:

•    Initially to gain an in depth understanding of the business and to build solid working relationships with relevant managers in the UK and Group Procurement team in Germany;
•    Undertake training within the Group Procurement team, based in the Group’s headquarters in Selm, Germany;  
•    To build and develop the UK procurement department, identifying possible improvements in the operational processes.
•    Once established in the role, you will be responsible for various purchasing areas at a national and international level, as well as the continuous independent search for new potential cost savings.
•    Based on well-founded analysis of purchasing data, you will conduct independent negotiations with supplier key accounts for a variety of group-wide purchasing areas. These will include plant engineering, operating and auxiliary materials, fleet management as well as maintenance and repair services for production technology.
•    You will be in constant communication with internal national and international managers, advising and implementing on new strategic supplier agreements.

The Person:

•    University Degree in Business, Economics or Industrial Engineering.
•    A good understanding of Procurement principles.
•    A Technical / Engineering background or understanding would be advantageous.
•    Proven conceptual and analytical skills. 
•    Excellent interpersonal skills with a confident manner and the ability to communicate at all levels.
•    Highly motivated with the drive to identify and achieve savings.
•    Strong assertiveness and professional negotiating skills.  
•    An aptitude, willingness and motivation to learn.

Salary: Circa £32,000 to £40,000, dependent upon experience, plus company car and excellent benefits package
Location: Doncaster, but with extensive travel to Selm, Germany initially for training
