This is an opportunity to join a dynamic and rapidly growing innovation management consultancy offering new approaches to support the development and commercialisation of advanced science and technologies.

They are currently looking for a high calibre, experienced business leader to join as a Corporate Finance Manager (Scale-Up Director). This company, in partnership with Innovate UK (the UK's innovation agency) is delivering services and support to some of the most ambitious high growth potential SMEs in the UK as part of a national pilot for scale-up companies. You will be instrumental in ensuring that this elite group of companies makes the most of innovation and global opportunities.

The role provides an exciting opportunity to directly contribute to driving productivity growth in the UK by setting the standard for the implementation and delivery of support to scale-up companies; accelerating their journey to significantly scale; helping them structure to be able to seize opportunities and become tomorrow's global success stories.

They are looking for an exceptional individual who has held a senior corporate finance role and has a strong track record of advising businesses with their growth strategy.

Responsibilities:
- Managing the Scale-Up programme pilot, leading the delivery team and support staff
- Identifying and selecting ambitious innovation orientated SMEs with the potential and ability to scale
- Developing and maintaining relationships with investors and financial institutions
- Preparing investment summaries, presentations and business plans to support clients in raising finance
- Introducing services and international connectivity along different phases of the company as it grows, augmenting other support available
- Supporting SMEs by influencing overall business strategy formulation, implementation & communication
- Acting as a sounding board, trusted advisor and facilitator
- Actively identifying and assessing key business risks and opportunities
- Developing the initial pilot into a fully-fledged national programme

Qualifications and Competencies:
The individual will be of exceptional high calibre and capable of being a combination of coach, mentor, critical friend and champion to this exceedingly demanding group of client companies
- Educated to degree level and/or equivalent financial qualification
- Experienced in change management and financial risk
- A proven track record of working in the Corporate Finance Advisory service
- Competent in all aspects of a deal completion, encompassing both acquisitions and sale mandates
- Credibility to network at a senior level and win the backing from key stakeholders
- Well-connected and networked (ideally with international connectivity or access to it)
- Experience of raising £5m+ equity or debt
- Experience /understanding of floating on AIM, M&As
- Experience of advising businesses and shareholders on strategic planning and M&A
