Manual Handling / First Aid Trainer 
Bristol (office/field based, with travel throughout the South West) 
Up to £26,000 DOE 

Acorn Health & Safety, a well-established health and safety consultancy company, are looking for a Manual Handling / First Aid Trainer to join our team on a full or part time basis. 

If you have a proven track record of delivering quality first aid and people handling training programmes, this is a brilliant opportunity to further develop your career with a well-established business. 

As a Manual Handling / First Aid Trainer, you’ll be responsible for delivering mainly First Aid or People handling courses and programmes at our Warmley Training Centre, sites throughout the South West and occasionally further afield.


Within a forward-thinking and rewarding environment, you will work regularly with a variety of organisations in the health and social care sector, including the NHS, local authorities, private and charitable organisations delivering both accredited and non-accredited manual handling training courses to health care professionals and others within this specialist sector


Our portfolio of first aid training includes a wide variety of basic life support, first aid at work and paediatric first aid courses accredited, many of which are externally accredited by Qualsafe Awards.


Your role will also involve:


- Designing new courses and revising existing ones

- Creating lesson plans, course programmes, presentations and other materials
- Ensuring the health and safety of yourself and others whilst at work

- Following company policies and procedures at all times

To be considered, you must have: 

- Experience of teaching first aid and people handling courses

- A full driving licence and access to your own vehicle 

Personable and articulate, as a Manual Handling / First Aid Trainer, you must have great interpersonal and relationship-building skills. A positive, proactive approach and excellent time-management abilities are also key. 

Please note, this role is available on either a full or part time basis. Applications from those looking for occasional or sessional work may also be considered. Successful candidates will be required to work on some Saturdays and undertake overnight stays as required.
