Here at The South East & Cambridge Sports Team, we are on the look out for an experienced Sports Reporter, to join our team. Within this role, you will focus mainly on covering all things Cambridge United, as well as offering support to the team with other sporting events/ news. This role would be well suited to an experienced sports reporter, who would consider themselves to be a versatile team player, with the ability to slot into any position and carry out any task given.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and produce compelling sports content
  • Working with content managers to plan the content for each title.
  • Promote content to our loyal audience and encourage a bigger audience to our sites
  • Build relationships with fans of and staff at clubs in our area
  • Use social media to source content and engage with our audience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Highest journalistic standards
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Eye for a good story
  • Awareness of social media
  • Ability to read digital trends
  • Ability to think and write like a fan
  • Openness to do shift work
  • Sports writers will work day and evening shifts as required including Saturdays during the Football and Rugby season.
