This Housing Group provide 6,500 rented homes for people in housing need, mainly in Worcestershire and Gloucestershire.
About the Role
They are expanding their ambitious and high-performance Development team to help them achieve their bold plans for growth. This new and exciting role will play an active part in the day to day running of the department as well as contributing to their strategic goals.
As Land and Planning Officer you will assist the work of the Land and Planning Manager in fulfilling Rooftop’s growth and land acquisition ambitions by identifying, investigating and appraising new sites that complement their core business. You will have direct involvement in the promotion of sites through the planning system to obtain planning permission and assist Senior Programme Delivery Officers in the management of development sites. You will be supported in your own development by undertaking relevant professional qualifications and structured on the job training.

Essential knowledge and Skills:
Degree – minimum 2:2 in subject related to Built Environment
Experience of gathering financial and non-financial data for a range of purposes
Ability to multi task, including prioritising a dynamic and diverse workload
Ability to think ahead and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
Excellent listening, written and oral communication skills including the ability to adapt oral and written communication methods and styles to suit the audience

Desirable knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of social housing and/or the property market
Knowledge of the planning system and/or land purchase

Other essential requirements:
A commitment to personal development
Full and current driving licence
Use of own vehicle
