Superb opportunity for an experienced mechanical / electrical engineer to join the professional Light Maintenance team at the Arriva TrainCare depot in Bristol.

What will the role of Shift Fitter entail?

Reporting to the Service Delivery Leader, you will support the Light Maintenance activities at the Bristol depot by efficiently carrying out maintenance of rail vehicles to laid down standards and procedures, and play an active part improving product quality.

Tasks will include carrying out routine maintenance activities, as well as fault finding, diagnostics and repair of rail vehicle engines.

What will I need to be considered a Shift Fitter role?

  • Be a time served electrical and/or mechanical engineer with a solid understanding of rail vehicle or plant, heavy goods or light vehicle maintenance activities
  • Qualified to a minimum of City & Guilds / NVQ Level 3 or BTEC in Engineering, preferably within Rail Traction and Rolling Stock
  • Good understanding of mechanical and electrical engineering and depot operations
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental standards and requirements
  • Superb problem solving and organisation skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and work autonomously
  • Able to communicate well with other team members

Salary:                           £35,193 per annum

Hours of Work:            40 hours per week. Night shifts: 10pm to 6.30am, Monday to Friday

Contract Type:             Fixed term contract for 12 Months
