Senior Process Operator, Saltburn by the Sea, Cleveland / North Yorkshire

Role's purpose:

• To operate process equipment for production of Potash by extraction from Sylvinite ore
• Support the Shift Management in all aspects of relevant Surface activities and functions to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Follow relevant company rules and procedures to ensure all relevant aspects of Surface day-to-day activities are compliant.

The main duties are:

• To carry out all duties as instructed in a safe manner that complies with company rules and procedures.
• Monitor the performance of the process - flow rates, pump, cyclones, screens, crushers etc and record appropriate information in shift logs within the Wet End of the Potash Plant.
• Monitor the condition of the operating equipment, and report faults in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Keep work area clean and tidy, and free from spillages.
• Assist in all other duties as instructed by shift management including working underground in the "tailings" tunnel.

The successful applicant will:

• Ideally be trained in undertaking risk assessments and following method statements.
• Ideally have an understanding of process equipment.
• Be trained in manual techniques.
• Be both numerate and literate.
• Be a good communicator, both orally and written.

Hours of Work: The role is working 12 hour shifts, days and nights, on a pattern to meet the company product requirements.
