Our client is looking to recruit a Regulatory Officer to be based in Crawley. On a temporary basis. The main Duties of the Regulatory Officer will be:

To undertake the specific regulatory tasks required by the Regulatory Team within Technical Services to ensure continued compliance with the current European regulations regarding Biocidal Products.

To support the registration process for company products.

Specifically the renewal of products in the  rodenticide range.

To undertake regulatory tasks as required by the  Regulatory Team within Technical Services to ensure continued compliance with the current European and non-European regulations which may affect products or services supplied by them.

To support regulatory compliance within operating businesses.

To ensure that the relevant parts are kept aware of changes in regulation and legislation that impact / might impact upon the businesses worldwide, now or in the future.

To act as the point of contact for technical regulatory matters related to required tasks.

Ensure all products encompassed by the tasks are compliant with all relevant areas of legislation and obtain / maintain product registrations as required.

Produce and communicate accurate product safety information related to the tasks.

Ensure that all work is completed within the required timescales.

To accept and comply with the  employee’s duties as detailed in Group and Local Health and Safety Policy Statement.


The Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities of the regulatory Officer:

Ensure that the Businesses are not exposed to commercial or technical risks arising from regulatory non-compliance, or changes to national or international directives / regulations, by maintaining a proactive awareness of legislative and regulatory changes which might impact upon any of our businesses.

Driving urgent corrective action within the businesses which mitigates any significant regulatory risk exposures that arise.

Providing specialist advice to the businesses by participating in cross functional improvement teams.

Thereby ensuring that the businesses understand the regulatory implications of their actions / any proposed changes, escalating if advice is not taken.

Participating in special projects which leverage regulatory enablement to renovate or innovate within our businesses.

Providing support to the Businesses on transactional regulatory services (labels, Material safety data sheets etc).


Skills, Experience and Competencies

A minimum of a good honours degree in a scientific or similar discipline.

A science graduate with a proven track record in chemical regulatory affairs or product safety.

Demonstrable supervisory experience

Excellent knowledge of the regulatory framework in Europe. Specifically with regard to CLP, BPR, PPPR, COPR, REACh, Cosmetic / Detergent regulations and the transport of dangerous goods,

Demonstrate a high level of computer literacy along with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Meticulous and detailed in their quality of work.

Experience of product registrations and legislation outside the EU is an advantage.

Relevant know-how and experience (2-5 years) in regulatory affairs or product safety role.

A natural team leader with the ability to influence key stakeholders.

Strong data analysis skills with a process driven, problem solving mindset.

Good project management experience.  Good at implementing projects from start to completion

Proven experience of working across borders, regions and culture.

Country Mother Tongue / English essential. Further European languages an advantage.
