We are a not-for-profit organisation and operate in over 150 local authority areas-managing around 19,000 Retirement and Extra Care apartments and provide over 80,000 hours of care each week to more than 31,000 customers.

We now have an exciting opportunity for an SQL Developer to join us where you will develop and support the databases used by Housing & Care 21 applications, particularly those using Microsoft SQL server. This includes both commercial systems such QL by Aareon, and in-house solutions. The role will also include the development of new functionality and solutions, troubleshooting problems, and improving performance.

We are looking for someone who has strong MS SQL development experience, including Stored Procedures, Queries and SSIS. Educated to degree level or with equivalent experience you will have data migration experience using SSIS and be capable in the use of SQL Profiler, and of running SQL traces. Proficient in the use of MS VS and with relational database design experience, you will be knowledgeable in supporting MS SQL application databases and have experience of change management processes, the system upgrade life cycle and of backup and recovery scenarios.

If, along with the above, you have the ability to troubleshoot issues to third line support level, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, outstanding organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure and unsupervised, then we would love to hear from you.

Please note this role does require some level of flexibility on working hours as Housing & Care 21 support needs to be covered 0800 to 1700, Monday – Friday. As a key role, the post holder may be required to work extra hours during evenings and weekends, if required by timescales or essential support. It may also be necessary to work extra hours to contribute to IS Service Level Agreements and IS Operational Level Agreements.

Some travel may occasionally be required.
