Our client owns and manages just under 6000 homes. As a successful social business, they put the wellbeing of their local communities at the centre of what they do and are fully committed to excellence in delivery and customer service.

They currently have 30 sheltered schemes across East Surrey ranging from a 40 unit block of flats to a scheme comprising of just 4 bungalows.

They are currently seeking three customer-focused Support Officers to join their older persons’ service within the Supported Housing team. The main purpose of this challenging yet rewarding role is to deliver support to customers in their sheltered housing schemes, assisting with key areas of their lives, acting as a central point of contact, and working to ensure that customers receive all the services that they require.

Your main responsibilities will include assessing new customers to determine which level of support would most appropriately meet their needs; developing and reviewing support plans and risk assessments with customers; signposting to other agencies; providing advice on matters such as debt managing, budgeting, and health and wellbeing; helping customers to access local resources to reduce isolation; ensuring regular contact with customers including visits, telephone calls, emails and text messaging; responding to emergency calls; and proactively promoting and encouraging independence.

The successful candidates will have worked within a similar role previously, have experience of person-centered support planning, and will ideally hold a relevant qualification. They are seeking strong communicators who have an ability to deal with challenging situations, and a desire to assist older people to maximise their independence and choice. Please note they do not provide care at any of their schemes, they provide support.

A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential. If successful, you’ll also be required to undergo a DBS check.

The closing date for this role is Friday 18th August, but please apply soon as they’ll be reviewing applications and arranging interviews throughout this period.
