Junior Designer

THE ROLE
Our client is looking for a Junior Designer to assist in all areas of the design studio.
Working closely with the senior designer, looking closely at current trends and working from design briefs you will create fresh innovative designs for greetings cards across a wide variety of genres for all seasons.
As well as graphic design work, there will be a focus on digital design projects. One responsibility would be to create and maintain the website banners, using digital design skills to piece these together.
The company aims for high quality and great service, designing and manufacturing cards for the UK and overseas. This position is a fantastic opportunity to see your design stocked throughout the country and internationally, particularly for an entry level graphic designer or student to get first-hand experience with a busy but small greeting card company.
JUNIOR DESIGNER RESPONSIBILITIES
• Working closely with the Senior Designer to produce high quality artwork
• Producing print ready artwork, working from a brief
• Design and produce any other printed material as may be required
• Producing digital marketing material for social media, website and eshots
• Thinking creatively in order to produce new ideas and concepts and then presenting these ideas to senior personnel
• Occasional proof checking
• General administrative duties, answering emails and telephone
• Researching current trends and range analysis
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Comfortable working within a small team environment and the ability to receive constructive feedback
• The ability to work under pressure, in a fast paced environment to meet deadlines
• Organised and excellent attention to detail
• Strong knowledge of CC Indesign, CC Photoshop, CC Illustrator and a design based qualification
• Enthusiastic, a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
