Business Development Manager
My client is a well known leader and manufacture specialist fluids and materials used within the power, automotive and scientific industries. They pride themselves on research and development which allows them to bring new and innovative products to the market. Due to this, they are currently working with me to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to work specifically on a range of new products that will be used extensively within the new electric car battery market.
These products are specialist fluids used to both cool and protect the batteries. The electric car market is seeing exponential growth, so this is a lucrative and innovative market to be involved with. To be successful in the role they are ideally looking for candidates that have a strong background developing relationships and opening doors with OEMS within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities and Duties:
To survey and develop relationships in the existing and potential International market for fluid based products used within Automotive OEMs.
Promote the use of these products to potential clients
Effectively utilise local commercial managers, technical service and customer service to develop and maintain profitable business opportunities.
Develop and maintain a business plan, identifying market opportunities, technical trends, and competitor activity.
Champion new product innovations to meet the requirements of new market applications
Attend international meetings/conferences to promote and educate on these products.
Responsible for the full sales process including Account maintenance and Sales lead development
Effectively utilise technical support and customer service to develop and maintain profitable business opportunities.
Manage CRM enquiry processes - maximising leads, improving utilisation and reporting of KPI performance.
Educated to degree level (Scientific or Electrical degree preferred but not essential)
Experience selling fluids, parts or transferable manufactured products into the Automotive industry specifically to OEM markets
Strong entrepreneurial skills with ability to develop relationships.
Structured approach, based on experience, to researching, developing and implementing a new market development plan.
Commercial experience - B2B account management, arranging meetings, follow up of leads, developing new business accounts
Experienced at gaining specification approvals in electrical sectors.
In return our client offers a competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 plus benefits package comprising of :-Bonus incentive scheme (paid twice yearly), 25 days holiday (plus the ability to buy or sell 2 further days), Group Personal Pension Scheme of up to 8%, Life Assurance, Company Sick Pay Scheme, Child Care Vouchers, Cycle to Work Scheme.
