In-House Employment Lawyer - Part Time
Bath, Somerset
GBPExcellent/Competitive

Our client is a rapidly-growing human resources support company that provides cost effective HR services for small businesses. Due to ongoing growth, they are now looking for an In-House Employment Lawyer to join their team on a part time basis.

If you are a qualified employment lawyer from an in-house or private practice background, this is a superb opportunity to take on a rewarding role that you can fit around your existing commitments.

Within a supportive and vibrant environment, you will be part of a team helping small businesses to navigate their way through the world of HR.

As an In-House Employment Lawyer, you will ensure that our client remains legally compliant, specifically focusing on the HR documentation they provide to their customers.

In this important role, you will provide up-to-date legal advice to our client's internal team of qualified HR Consultants.

This is not a fee earning position and is generally not customer-facing, however, you may occasionally be required to provide direct advice to customers.

Specifically, your duties will involve:

- Reviewing, maintaining and developing employment policies that are provided to customers
- Reviewing and developing template contractual documents, covering all contract types, from zero hours and subcontractor agreements to permanent contracts
- Ensuring that all guidance documentation is legally compliant
- Researching, creating and editing legal updates to ensure that customers are aware of key legal developments
- Providing internal training on legal changes when necessary

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:

- To be a qualified employment lawyer who is eligible to practice in the UK
- At least two years' PQE in either in-house roles or a private practice environment
- Demonstrable experience of using MS Office applications

Commercially-astute and decisive, as an In-House Employment Lawyer, you'll be able to communicate complex legal matters in a simple and clear manner. A flexible and positive approach to working in a small team is also key.

Experience of working with small and medium-sized companies would be beneficial, as would previous experience of working with technology start-ups and professional services businesses.

Please note, this is a part time role, working approximately 16 - 20 hours per week. Our client is flexible regarding when these hours are worked.
