Shifts include mornings, days, evenings and sleep-ins on weekdays and weekends. </p><p><strong>Who we are</strong></p><p>United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.</p><p><strong>Welcome to our Stanley Common service</strong></p><p>You’ll be joining the team in our service in Stanley Common. The team supports people with significant learning disabilities in the community and their own homes, maintaining a calm and predictable environment while also accessing social activities. Our aim is to give them as much control as possible over their own lives.</p><p><strong>Make it happen - your role</strong></p><p>You’ll have a responsible role that’s really varied, sometimes challenging and often lots of fun. The job is all about giving people encouragement, guidance and support - so they can live as independently as possible, make their own choices and do the things they enjoy. Here are just some of the activities you could soon be supporting:</p><p>Cooking, cleaning washing and ironing – Personal care - Paying bills/Managing household finances - Taking medicines - Going shopping – going on day trips – Going bowling – Swimming - Visiting hairdressers, dentists, doctors, opticians and hospital – going on holiday – visiting family – Socialising with friends– walking – Going for meals – Baking – Drawing and painting – Playing sport</p><p>If you have interests or hobbies of your own, we’d love you to share them with us.</p><p><strong>About you</strong></p><p>We welcome people from all walks of life.
