Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland

Salary: £7.50 per hour or £15,007 per annum

Position: Full/part time and bank staff vacancies available

Currently they support over 160 people in Newcastle, North Tyneside, and Northumberland. They provide residential and day services, outreach and enabling support, and independent supported living.

The Support Worker post is an opportunity to provide support in a person centred way, supporting community connections, creating employment opportunities and helping people to establish a network of relationships - both taking the initiative and working closely colleagues with a "can do" approach in line with the Organisation's values. The Support Worker also provides personal assistance to people who require it; this includes personal care e.g. practical help to wash, bathe, and cook meals. This position is an opportunity to work creatively with people. New Prospects emphasises a team approach to work.

No experience is required but is advantageous to have a relevant qualification or experience. The company offers an excellent training package with opportunities for their staff to develop.

  • Working with vulnerable people, this can include family caring responsibilities.
  • Planning and managing your own workload.
  • Planning and listening to vulnerable people.
  • Communicate effectively with people with learning disabilities and within the staff team.
  • Understand and respect confidentiality.
  • Build positive relationships with other people.
  • Keep clear and accurate records.
