Associate, Corporate Investment - Europe

The firm is looking for an Associate to join the investment team in London to work across all stages of the investment cycle. This includes conducting business and technical diligence, supporting the overall evaluation of new target companies and execution of deals, through to assisting the portfolio management and the ultimate exit of investments. This is a unique opportunity to join an established and very active private equity firm with global reach

The role will be based in London but will require regular and frequent travel within Europe and also to China. A successful candidate is therefore required to speak Mandarin fluently. Potent in the mid to long term to re-locate the successful candidate in Asia.

The day to day the role will involve:

• Evaluating investment opportunities through fundamental strategic and financial analysis and financial modelling. Preparing and presenting analysis of investment evaluations.

• Supporting deal structuring and execution activities such as financing or contract / agreement negotiations and eventually investment exits.

• Managing third parties in completing, as well as conducting technical due diligence.

• Supporting portfolio companies including working closely with management teams in evaluating potential add-on investments, assessing opportunities in new and existing markets, and improving core operations.

• Business development activities working alongside the firm’s partners.

• Coaching and leading more junior members of the team.


• Responsible and driven self-starter who has worked within teams and by themselves. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with clear and concise writing skills. Excellent commercial judgement and business acumen.

• A strong record of academic achievement in a top global university or from a top tier business school.

• Experience of working at a top tier investment banking firm or private equity and with significant M&A and/or leveraged finance experience for at least 2/3 years is a must

• Strong experience of completing and presenting financial, commercial and strategic analysis and diligence in relation to investments. Strong modelling experience is a must

• Native or bilingual proficiency in Mandarin (written and conversation to a business fluency level) is essential. Proven experience of working in European markets is also essential.
