We are a charted accountancy firm specialised in the digital and technology sectors, and are looking for an experienced practice accountant with a passion for technology to join our team. We are a fun, professional and easy to work with team with an interesting portfolio of innovative and high growth clients. This is a working from home role as our team work remotely. However access to London for occasional team and client meetings is necessary.
Responsibilities:
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients mainly in the technology sector. You will be required to effectively and efficiently balance your workload, while maintaining a high level of client care and a strong attention to detail.
Your main day to day duties will include:-
- The preparation and completion of year end accounts and corporation tax computations.
- Bookkeeping using Xero and Receipt Bank software.
- Co-ordination and management of payroll and VAT.
- Preparation and submission of self assessment and personal tax returns.
- Providing advice and guidance to clients on tax planning opportunities and be well versed in corporate and personal tax.
- Delegating work and ensuring deadlines are met.
- Ongoing client portfolio management.
Requirements:
- You must have previous experience working within a private practice with at least 3 PQE.
- You will need to hold ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualifications.
- You should have a good knowledge of accounting systems, UK tax laws and accounting standards relevant to small businesses.
- You should have experience of accounts preparation under FRS102.
- The role involves significant interaction with clients and staff so a confident and positive attitude is a necessity.
- Hold excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
- Experience of using Xero, Receipt Bank and Taxfiler [or similar cloud accounting packages].
- Ability to work closely with the partners and within a small team.
- Experience of SEIS, R&D Tax Credits and EMI share options would be advantageous.
