Diocesan Safeguarding Coordinator for Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham

£32,778 - £38,405 per annum (full time equivalent) plus Nottinghamshire Local Government Pension Scheme
30 hours per week (working pattern subject to negotiation), flexible with some evening and weekend work

Family Care is seeking to appoint a Safeguarding Coordinator to lead in the implementation and management of the safeguarding policy and practice for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Nottingham.

You will be responsible for promoting safeguarding for all in the Catholic community, especially the young and the vulnerable, and to promote appropriate practice in prevention of abuse within parishes, religious
orders and agencies throughout the Diocese adhering to the safeguarding policies laid down within the Catholic Church. In addition, you will be responsible for developing and delivering safeguarding training to the clergy
and parish safeguarding representatives, ensuring national training standards are met and ongoing support is provided.

A key aspect of the role is working in collaboration with clergy, lay people, other employees and volunteers. The ability to develop good relationships and relate to and communicate with a wide variety of people are
essential qualities.

You will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and possess relevant professional experience gained in a safeguarding related role. This may encompass experience and qualifications from other disciplines including
the police, probation or health sectors.

You will be based at Family Care in Nottingham. Travel is an essential part of the role, therefore access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence is required.
