Yard Person - Longridge, Preston, Lancashire

The Company:

We are an established sector leading business, manufacturing timber buildings

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a reliable yard person to join our friendly team. Previous site / yard experience possibly in the timber trade would be useful however it is not essential as we offer full training. Position is for full time employment, Monday-Friday but part-time hours will be considered, remuneration based on experience.

Job Description:

Job details will include but are not limited to; handling, measuring, cutting & picking orders, checking delivery notes against deliveries, Stock Control, machine operation, preventative maintenance, as well as some general labour.  

Job Requirements:

Strong organisation skills - Attention to detail; Cleanliness; well organised; need to be able to maintain a neat work place

Responsibility - Consistent punctuality; accountability 

Initiative – Looking for a fast learner with a desire to advance, able to work alone or in a small team

Attitude – Maintain a positive attitude, show professionalism, teamwork

Physically fit (manual handling)

Perform basic mathematical calculations. Read and understand metric numbers

Driving Licence – Must be able to drive no points on license held for 5 years

Safety Awareness – Follow all company safety guidelines as required

Preferred Skills/Qualifications:

Previous experience of machine operations in a timber or associated environment

Experience in a timber yard ideal but not required; Forklift experience an advantage
