Van Driver / Shop Assistant


West Bromwich


Salary: £17,576 per annum following successful completion of 6-month probationary period


40 hours per week worked on a rota

To cover the hours 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday and 11.00am to 5.00pm on Sundays

To assist residents and service users they provide tailored support programmes, based on an individuals' need, which enables residents to improve their quality of life and live independently.

The Association is a not for profit organisation; all surpluses generated are reinvested into key areas of their work.


They have a new and exciting opportunity for a Van Driver / Shop Assistant for their new recycling and upcycling outlet in West Bromwich.


The primary purpose of this post is to support the Retail Manager and Retail Assistant in the managing of the retail outlet for recycling and upcycling activities within the organisation. You will work with the Social Enterprise team to ensure self-funding of the scheme and thus supporting the organisation's mission to restore hope and dignity to vulnerable and excluded people.


Candidate Requirements:

Some of the key knowledge, skills and behaviours required for this Van Driver / Shop Assistant role are:


  • Driving and collection experience
  • Retail/shop experience
  • Experience in supporting and developing volunteers
  • Experience in fundraising and generating donations
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively with good time management and organisational skills


You will need a full, clean driving licence.
