Our dedicated Library and Learning Services team support teaching, learning and research in collaboration with staff and students. We aim to deliver a seamless experience across the University providing excellent digital and physical resources to our staff and students, whilst providing environments that encourage study, learning and creativity. The University Archive is a recent addition to the Library and Learning Services portfolio, bringing an exciting opportunity for development of this unique resource.
About the role
The post holder will work alongside the Library Collections team, in organising, cataloguing and administering the Bath Spa University Archive. They will be the key point of contact for the Archive, and will facilitate access to and use of the collection by University staff, students and visitors. This will include answering enquiries, and sorting key items for presentation or display as required. They will liaise with key people in the University in relation to the collection, supported by the Collections Librarian. There will be some supervision of students working in the Archive on University placement or using the resources for research.
About you (requirements)
Together with recent experience of working with the public and delivering high quality customer services, ideally in a library or archive environment, you will have proven ability in administration and clerical work.
We will expect you to demonstrate excellent communication skills, practical problem solving, and a flexible approach. The ability to organise records or information, and practical computer skills, will be essential in this role.
We are looking for someone with strong team working values and experience, who is organised and committed to their personal professional development. You should be able to work accurately without close supervision. Crucially, you are enthusiastic about delivering excellent customer services and focused on providing the highest level of support to students and staff.
