Job Title: Support Engineer
Salary: £31,568 - £36,211 per annum
Ref: IT049
The University of West London is a leading modern university specialising in the education and development of exceptional creative, business and service professionals.
The IT Department is a dynamic and forward looking department and is currently undergoing a series of transitional projects to improve staffing and student IT facilities across all sites.
To that effect, we are looking for a committed, focussed and experienced Support Engineer to deliver exceptional 1st and 2nd line support to all users of the University’s IT Services, including staff, students, visitors, Alumni, external users and local community, in accordance with service level targets. This role also requires good skills at Audio Visual and Media support and a range of internal software applications and hardware faults.
An IT qualification with customer service experience would be ideal for this role – however what is important is that you have a real interest in and curiosity about IT, plus a talent for problem solving. Unfailingly courteous, you have a real way with customers and you're always eager to help and learn. You're also good at picking things up quickly, explaining things clearly and prioritising even when you're busy, In essence we are looking for a "can do" attitude with the customer at the heart of everything we do!
If you are passionate about IT and have an interest or current experience within the higher education sector then we would be keen to hear from you. Please note that due to the nature of this post successful candidate must be prepared to occasionally work outside of normal hours to meet the requirements of the business.
Please be advised that it is expected that appointment within a grade will normally be at the minimum point.
Closing date for receipt of applications to the above post is Sunday 23 April 2017.
Interviews are scheduled to take place week commencing Monday 24 April 2017.
