The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in being able to effectively work with ASD children within a primary or secondary setting and demonstrate effective ways of working with pupils to raise their attainment and consistently increase their enthusiasm for learning.

Successful SEND teachers must be:

  • Qualified with a primary teaching qualification
  • Experienced in working within an SEND setting, particularly autism
  • Resilient and able to overcome difficult situations
  • Confident interacting with a wide range of personalities
  • Able to work independently and confidently with children and young people of all ages
  • Able to use their initiative and take on additional responsibilities as and when necessary
  • A personable and caring individual who is committed to providing excellence to children in their care
