Independent Supporter – covering Liverpool & Knowsley

1x full-time post (35 hours)

1x part-time post (16 hours)

Salary: £19494 per annum pro rata. For part-time this equates to an actual annual salary of £8914 plus benefits

Contract period: 12 month rolling contract subject to funding

Liverpool & Knowsley SENDIASS (formerly Parent Partnership) is seeking to appoint a dynamic and flexible Independent Supporter. In this role you will work 1:1 with parent carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). You will work to empower children and young people with SEND and their parents/carers by providing high quality information, advice and support over the phone, face-to-face and on-line.

It is essential to have; experience of work with parents of children/young people with SEND or vulnerabilities, knowledge of the Special Educational Needs and Disability agenda and relevant SEND legislation, experience of working across, and with a wide range of partners and agencies.

The person appointed will need a high level of organisational & IT ability, and be able to manage their time efficiently. A full, clean driving license is essential so too is a willingness to work outside of office hours if there are scheduled events and meetings.
