Ashchurch is offering qualified vehicle fitters/mechanics the opportunity to work on a variety of military vehicles and equipment. Vehicle familiarisation and essential training will be provided. We are looking to appoint skilled operatives with the ability to work with the minimum of supervision, undertaking the maintenance, repair and overhaul of a wide range of wheeled and tracked vehicles.

Successful applicants will be able to undertake diagnostic repair and inspection processes. Complete vehicle documentation and test certificates and reports.  Ensure stores and equipment are correct for purpose and ensure high standards of Health & Safety are maintained. 

Applicants must hold a recognised apprenticeship, or appropriate training qualification, to skilled status in automotive engineering. Ideally a Level 3 NVQ Motor Vehicles/ Level 3 IMI or Class One REME Vehicle mechanic.

Opportunities exist under the Sponsored Reserve Opportunity (Voluntary). Under the Power Pack Regeneration Facility (PPRF) employees can be employed by Babcock as a Vehicle Fitter whilst serving as a Sponsored Reserve.
