Maintenance Operative - Permanent night shift role - Gloucester
Hours - Sunday night to Thursday night 10.00pm to 6.10am
Rate: ??10.09 per hour rising to ??12.13 after 3 months
You will be responsible for the maintenance of core production equipment including resistance welding machines, nut feeders and assembly jigs, as well as participating in process engineering activities. For example identifying and carrying out improvements to equipment and processes, to improve quality and or efficiency.
Working hands on to maintain all welding jigs and fixtures and robotic welding guns, sometimes without supervision, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
Following a detailed work list including, cleaning down equipment, checking for air leaks, checking jigging security, checking all aspects of the jig are dimensionally correct and rectifying any faults found.
Using a high powered pneumatic ice blasting machine to remove any build-up of welding debris which could be present on the jig following use in the robotic weld cells.
Identifying and carrying out improvements to equipment to improve quality and efficiency.
Working with production staff to identify production issues, developing countermeasures and implementing improvements to process performance.
Liaising with Quality Department on any internal issues.
Desirable skills/experience
An engineering qualification of equivalent would be advantageous
Pneumatics / Hydraulics
Knowledge of resistance welding techniques
Machining skills including lathe, mill and pillar drill
Manual mig welding
Person profile
Enthusiastic - Must react to breakdowns and requests for help positively
Must be flexible with working hours and be willing to do overtime as required
Willing to learn on own initiative
Must be able to manage own workload
