Our client is a large, and growing, specialist land-based College, with centres throughout Yorkshire, Cumbria and the Tees Valley.

Due to the rapid growth of their Public Service’s Study Programmes, they are seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer in their Sport and Public Services department. This post will join a well-established and strongly resourced team providing study programmes in Public Services, Team and Outdoor Adventure sport.

The college currently provides L2 and L3 study programmes in UPS, a HNC/HND in Policing, delivers the North Yorkshire Police Cadets scheme in York, and is currently launching a CCF detachment.

Under the supervision of the Section Leader and Director, you will act as subject lead and course manager for Public Services at L3 and HE whilst overseeing quality across the provision, the police cadets and the CCF detachment.

This is a critical post with a focus on maintaining the momentum in the curriculum area delivered by the outgoing post holder. You will need to have a background ideally as a police officer (inspector or above) or will have held a military rank above WO2 or equivalent. Your experience will give you gravitas and credibility when dealing with students and with our partners in the NYP and military.

You will need to evidence considerable ability to work with a range of young people in an education or training environment, hold a first degree or equivalent and ideally hold a PGCE or CertEd. Experience of working in an FE environment would be an advantage.
