This safety equipment supplier is looking for a Warehouse Operative to complete shipments by processing, packing and loading orders. Maintain warehouse stock levels, cleanliness, and appearance.
Duties:
- Prepares orders by processing delivery notes; pulling materials; packing boxes; placing orders in delivery area, assist with loading vehicles. Accept goods in, and serve at the trade counter as required.
- Process and organise parcel and pallet deliveries, including utilising online booking systems.
- Maintains forklift truck by completing preventive maintenance requirements; arranging for repairs.
- Maintains inventory controls by regular stock checks, and cycle counts, completing paperwork and assisting the buyer.
- Maintains quality service by following organisation standards.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping shelves, pallet area, and workstations neat; maintaining clean shipping supply and warehouse areas; complying with procedures.
- Completes stock and carrier reports by entering required information.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending in house workshops on product and Health & Safety.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Assists on trade counter, as required.
Skills/Qualifications:
Teamwork, Coordination, Organisation, Planning, Time Management, Reporting Skills, Inventory Control, Documentation Skills, Equipment Maintenance, Data Entry Skills, Dependability
Forklift truck licence required (counter balance & pedestrian), experience in warehousing and product picking preferred.
Knowledge of PPE, and safety equipment would be beneficial, as the business primarily supplies the asbestos decontamination and construction sectors.
