Business: This company's operations have a market-leading presence in a wide range of sectors associated with the food chain. The Group's Companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The Company has a UK annual turnover approaching GBP250 million and employs around 1,000 people at 23 sites across the country.

Position: Applications are invited for a Supply Chain Manager to work within their Scottish Food Waste and CAT 3 bulking depot. This is a full time permanent position.

As a Supply Chain Manager your duties and responsibilities will vary based on the Company's requirements but will include:

- Managing c.15 employees including drivers and site operatives to achieve daily collections and deliver KPI's.
- Managing the raw material supply chain - co-ordinating supplies with customers and internal personnel.
- Ensuring the efficient running of the Company's collection services.
- Planning efficient operation of the vehicle fleet, ensuring vehicle utilisation is maximised and service levels maintained.
- Proactively seek solutions to operational problems, identifying solutions and implementing where required.
- Ensuring any queries/briefings relating to drivers are dealt with.
- Ensuring vehicles are available to the correct standard and taking action when needed with contractors who service and repair the vehicles.
- Recruitment, management and development of drivers and site operatives.
- Ensuring total compliance of departmental Driving Regulations, Working Time Directive, Agency Worker Regulations; taking action when needed.
- Compliance with company procedures and statutory obligations for vehicle operations, health & safety and other legislation.
- Preparing vehicle KPI's in line with ReFood requirements.
- Managing on site compliance and general administrative duties.

The Person

- CPC holder with excellent knowledge of the latest Transport Legislation.
- Remain calm under pressure, with good activity planning and organisational skills.
- Effective People Manager.
- Strong H & S awareness.
- A team player who is also able to work on own initiative.
- Track record of keeping to service and cost commitments.
- Previous managerial experience within a fast paced Transport function.
- Innovative approach, forward thinking, able to generate new opportunities for improvement.
