The Company Topps Tiles PLC is Britain's largest supplier of tiles, associated tools and accessories with over 340 stores throughout the UK. In the financial year ending 2015 we achieved record sales of GBP212m, like for like sales growth of 5.4% and profit before tax increased by 19.3%. We achieved our strategic goal of taking GBP1 in every GBP3 spent in the UK domestic tile market one year early and have delivered seven consecutive years of market share gains. Summary We are looking for highly talented and successful Retail Assistant Managers to join our growing and exciting business. As a Retail Assistant Manager you will support the Store Manager in inspiring and engaging your team to achieve and exceed sales and profit targets through inspirational customer service. Your ability to coach and develop people to become highly effective in a sales environment will be critical to your success and that of your store. We are looking for natural leaders with the ability to motivate others and commercial flair for maximising sales opportunities. Your proactive leadership will influence and drive the store team to exceed targets. You will be a confident decision maker who advocates an inspirational customer experience in store. Leading by example, you'll be generating sales through developing and motivating the team to maximise customer engagement. Hands on and driven, you will inspire others with your passion for retail. The Role • Lead, coach and motivate the team to achieve and exceed sales, profit and customer service targets• Deliver expert coaching to support the training and development of individuals within their role• Lead by example in achieving sales, profit and customer service targets• Clearly and concisely communicate the business, area and store objectives and priorities to the team to ensure the team remain well informed of business activity and their required contribution• Inspire the team to provide inspiration to our customers through effective customer engagement• Ensure that store standards and visual presentation is maintained to a high standard• Conduct competitor visits to understand the local market and make appropriate and innovative recommendations to drive sales The Person • Retail and people management experience from a commercial and customer focused environment• Proven track record of exceeding sales and profit targets through inspirational leadership, coaching and customer service• Outstanding leadership, coaching and people management skills• Excellent people management skills coupled with an ability to engage with colleagues at all levels• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills• Strong retail and people management experience in a highly commercial retail environment• Commercially aware with the business acumen to keep ahead of your competition and set your store apart• Energy, drive and a positive can do attitude• A desire for continuous personal and professional development Benefits • Competitive salary• Bonus scheme (potential to earn up to 28% of base salary)• Commission (uncapped)• Holiday entitlement that increases with length of service• Pension• Life assurance• Share save scheme• Staff discount scheme• Employee Assistance Programme• A wide range of discounts with selected companies including discounts on insurance, holidays and retail vouchers
