My client is a well respected aerospace & defence company who is currently experiencing an ongoing period of growth and success. Due to an ever increasing workload, they are currently looking to recruit a Project Controller to join their dedicated team of professionals to be based out of their impressive operations in Preston, Lancs. This is an initial 12 month contract and is paying a rate of GBP26Ltd per hour. Please find the job description below:

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of a major construction project in a middle east location . We are looking for someone with significant project management and construction management experience. Ability to scope the management activities of a major construction project from bid , design and construction perspectives. The bid and design elements are likely to be situated in the UK but gradually it is envisaged that the role will transition to the customers location. Significant senior stakeholder management will be required to manage this complicated integrated programme.

To provide key support to the Head of Department and Delivery Programme Manager to ensure the bid, design and construction elements of the programme are delivered on time to the required standards within budget, whilst maximising client satisfaction
* To scope the management activities required to oversee the bid , design and construction activities of the programme for the client.
* To provide and lead the project management and integration support to the CAM (the Delivery Programme Manager is the CAM) and to provide a compliant project control service to the project/CAM.
* To effectively manage a Project Management team to develop, implement and where appropriate, further enhance PM processes to enable effective delivery of the Project to Time, Cost and Quality
* Be responsible for the creation and co-ordination of management information to enable successful interface with key stakeholders at all levels to demonstrate accurate progress and make visible Project Issues that require support to resolution.

Additional Information

Your skills and qualifications:
* Detailed working knowledge of generic project management processes and procedures
* Experience in project control systems
* Knowledge of construction and construction maturity processes (RIBA)
* Excellent knowledge of IT business systems
* A working knowledge of the planning process within major companies and associated resource management and financial control processes
* Knowledge of Contract Status Reporting
* Understanding of Risk and Opportunity Management and application
* An understanding of Cost Management and scheduling
* Ability to generate and review MSP schedules
* APM accreditation or equivalent is desirable
Project Delivery & Integration
* Support the bid and design activities of the programme with the Deliver Programme Manager
* Scope the bid , design and construction activities
* Agree an integrated programme with the Delivery Programme Manager and each of the building leads
* Support and contribute to the strategic management of the Project
* Intervene and agree action plans to recover delays where possible
* Ensure support to the delivery of all information that is on the programme critical path
* Identify variations to contract that will impact on the programme and ensure programme is revised to accommodate them in line with agreed change requests.
* Provide support and guidance on contract matters as appropriate to Delivery Programme Manager and the Construction Leads
* Deputise for the Delivery Programme Manager in appropriate PM related.
* Monitor job costs and progress against budget in conjunction with Programme Delivery Manager
* Ensure in-coming invoices or applications for payment from the Construction Contractor are checked and signed off to release payment
* Management of risk & opportunity process and management of risk contingency release.
* Ensure compliance with programme project control/EV management & reporting requirements
* Coordinate Programme inputs into the F35 & Manufacturing Operations management review and reporting structure
* Establish and maintain the project's Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) and support the CAM in all reviews, EAC updates and reporting performance against the baseline to all stakeholders

Customer Relations & Liaison

* Represent the company at Customer meetings. Review and Issue meeting minutes and appropriate documentation when it is agreed as the company's responsibility to do so.
* Assist the Head of Department and Delivery Programme Manager in negotiations to agree Variations and Change in relation to Cost Time and Quality
* Quality Control/Assurance & Compliance
* Responsibility for application and compliance with Life Cycle Management including selection of LCM Assessors and Chairman and delivery of project plans
* Ensure appropriateness of QMS
