HGV Technician
Our client, a rapidly expanding and successful commercial vehicle organisation is currently recruiting for an experienced Technician to join their new Gloucester site.
Location: Newbury
Hourly Rate: GBP12.50ph - GBP14ph
Hours: Monday - Friday - Day Shift and occasional Saturday morning

Responsibilities
*
Test drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using equipment such as infrared engine analyzers, compression gauges, and computerized diagnostic devices.
*
Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
*
Repair, reline, replace, and adjust brakes.
*
Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined, including belts, hoses, steering systems, spark plugs, brake and fuel systems, wheel bearings, and other potentially troublesome areas.
*
Confer with customers to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, to discuss work to be performed and identify future repair requirements.
*
Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
*
Repair and service air conditioning, heating, engine-cooling, and electrical systems.
*
Test and adjust repaired systems to meet manufacturers' performance specifications.
*
Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
*
Repair, and rebuild faulty
The successful individual will have experience:
*
Working Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HGV)
*
Working on light commercial vehicles
*
Will preferably have experience working on tail lifts
Knowledge and Skills:
*
Mechanical qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent are essential
*
Candidates must have completed a related qualification in HGV automotive vehicle maintenance and repair and have hands-on workshop experience
*
Detailed mechanical knowledge of heavy commercial vehicles is essential
*
Must be computer literate, with good numeracy and communication skills (verbal and written)
*
Must have high levels of Customer Service and attention to detail with a positive attitude
