Purpose of the role
Full responsibility for managing the daily receipting of BAC's and cheques in accordance with the
Solicitors' Accounts Rules and the Firm's policy.

Responsibilities
Importing of the daily BACS receipts from our on-line banking portal together with receipting
in of all remote office cheques, checking the associated documentation provided is correct,
complete and match where applicable and to query any unmatched items.
Using the discretion delegated by Browne Jacobson, decide on the most appropriate
treatment of receipts and payments to meet Firm and client requirements in accordance with
the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
Promptly filing all transaction paperwork associated with the position.
Perform the daily SAR compliance control checks by running and dealing with the daily SAR
breach reports.
Undertake other finance department duties as and when required.
Ensure client services meet the firm's operational, compliance and regulatory business needs.
Ensure all process documentation is complete and up to date and amended to include any
process improvements.

Technical skills
Experience of using legal accounting software and bank electronic payment software is preferable.
Must be IT literate and have good keyboard skills - knowledge of MSExcel and MSWord is desirable.
Will be an experienced and used to dealing with large volumes of data.
Compliance
You will be expected to be familiar and compliant with the full range of regulatory policies and
procedures including: equal opportunity and diversity, data protection and
confidentiality/security, anti-bribery and anti-money laundering etc.
You will also be required to undertake mandatory compliance training as required.

As part of the finance team, you would be expected to have the following skills and experience:

Must possess a 'can-do' attitude.
The ability to work accurately and adhere to critical deadlines under considerable time pressure.
Ability to work in a logical and methodical manner.
Confident, articulate and adept in obtaining (and where necessary challenging)
information on own initiative in order to progress processing and meet targets.
Ability to build strong working relationships with senior management and partners within the
organisation.
A robust approach to relationships and interactions with colleagues and a positive attitude is essential.
The finance department is often a lively and pressurised environment and the job holder should recognise and respond positively to this as appropriate
