(Senior) Quality Engineer - Job Description
• To evaluate and audit current supply base ensuring that regulatory, customer and business quality requirements are adhered to.
• To lead suppliers through development programmes to ensure that supplier performance meets the current and future needs of the company
• Deal effectively with supplier quality issues.
• Implementing containment actions in a timely manner and following through to closure via 8D Problem Solving.
Supplier approval and Maintenance
• Participate in cross functional teams conducting supplier/sub-tier selection
• Conduct supplier/sub-tier audits (QMS and process)
• Generate quality and performance metrics and report regularly
• Maintain the appropriate records of supplier approval, audit, visit, and performance, to ensure that we satisfy Company, Customer and regulatory requirements.
NPI Phase (Tiering)
• Assess Key Characteristics in accordance with customer requirements
• Review and evaluate sub-tier Design and Process FMEAs and assess effectiveness of mitigation of risks
• Review sub-tier Control Plans to assess manufacturing capability for ensuring the conformance and quality of the product
• Coordinate and review Sub-tiers FAIR's, between the sub-tier and customer
• Represent Quality in design and production readiness reviews and customer quality meetings
Serial Production Phase
• Manage supplier/sub-tier returns process.
• Manage supplier/sub-tier corrective action requests ensuring adequate investigation, corrective, preventive and close out actions are undertaken and that issues are resolved in a timely manner.
• Manage customer quality issues with sub-tier products and ensure effective problem resolution by the sub-tier
• Flow down customer and company quality requirements to suppliers/sub-tiers and ensure compliance
• Manage supplier/sub-tier concessions and permits
• Plan and deploy quality improvement initiatives with suppliers/sub-tiers
