A Body Test Engineer is required to work for a leading automotive OEM supplier based in Gaydon, Warwickshire.
The Body Test Engineer has a hands on / practical role and is responsible for static, "key-life" durability and environmental testing of all body and trim systems.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Completion of assigned test programmes to ensure efficient, customer-driven delivery.
- Plan and conduct body system test activities in accordance with test standards.
- Co-ordinate test set up (build, instrumentation etc), conduct test and ensure timely report out.
- Liaise with design function and workshop teams to deliver fit for purpose test rigs.
- Interface with customer to ensure specific requirements are identified and expectations are met.
- Support the delivery of facility and next generation technology projects.
- Support CAE activities through the generation of robust data.
- Support local business and department process improvements activities.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Preferably degree qualified in a relevant field.
- Knowledge of durability and environmental testing techniques and associated data acquisition tools.
- Ability to interpret and implement company test procedures methodically.
- Familiarity with body components, sub-assemblies and vehicle systems.
- An understanding of electrical control systems such as PLC and CAN.
- Experience of robot programming and implementation (ABB and KUKA systems).
- NB. Specific technical and departmental training can be provided.
