Host Force:

Some of our current departments will be hosted by Devon and Cornwall Police and others by Dorset Police. As a consequence employment in this advertised role may at some point transfer to Dorset Police following the principles laid down by TUPE (Transfer of Undertakings Regulations 2006). In most cases this will not necessitate a change in location. Proposals for which force is to ‘host' a given function and the arrangements to implement any new structure across a business area are at various stages and applicants for this role will be updated accordingly throughout the recruitment process.

Principal Responsibility.

The principal responsibility of the role is the provision of a radio service to the Force through the dispatching of police resources to a range of incidents; answering emergency calls and making decisions in relation to the grading against Force policy

Grade and Salary.

The commencing salary will be within Grade 4 starting at £19,521 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £21,618.

Allowances:

This post attracts a shift allowance of 20% and weekend working allowance (which is claimable) (current shift patterns are under review).  This post is shift working covering 24/7 over 365 days a year.

Candidates should also note that the start and finish time of shifts can vary slightly subject to business needs, all changes will be made in line with the Police Staff Council Handbook.

Closing date: Friday 16 December 2016

Interview / Assessment Date: Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 January 2017
